255 Royalty-Free Audio Tracks for "Cassette Player"

Recording is a 24 bit stereo wav file. Literally using a "motivational speaker" tape found in a box (full of several more of these god awful things!) while digging through the neighborhood trash to test out and setup a pitch-shifted vocal patch for my noisecore project. Effects used: danelectro fish & chips eq, korg ax3g multi-effect, and alesis nanoverb direct to sound card. Processed in goldwave(compression to reduce peaks and fading on the beginning/end. ).

Bought an old sony walkman from an antique mall. It was advertised as "radio works, but cassette player does not play. " this was true, and i was surprised at the noises it made when you tried to play tapes, though whether or not you have a tape or not it makes these types of noises when you switch it to the metal/chrome setting with dolby b on. You can add a 60 hertz hum if you touch any of the metal parts, and can somewhat mess the sound by messing with the spindles as they move. I may upload some more samples of this at one point, with cleaner recording of each of the sounds you can create.

Sound output from playback of an old blank/empty type 1 audio tape that has an undulating pattern of noise. The volume hasn't been adjusted, so this is true to the amount of noise present in a tape recording.

I recorded a bunch of guitar noodling to a fostex x-26 four-track recorder, then recorded the tape to my computer with goldwave wherein i cut out a segment which was looped and then processed with reverb effects and other vsts in fl studio.

Amateur guitar plucking of a tune of my own making, mainly on one string up and down the fret board. Recorded august or september 1984 when i was 15/16. Cassette is a basf cr2-90 (1 of 3). Recorded on my fidelity hi-fi tower, with microphones jacked in. The extra guitar strums near the end were actually unrelated, a technical glitch made an impression of the previous recording to bleed through. Audio has been uploaded using alesis usb tape deck link to audacity, no editing or noise removal was utilised.

Just today transferred to digital using my fathers old decca legato tape player which we purchased in the early 70s to enable us to send messages to my uncle who had emigrated to australia. Dad says the player cost over £30 then which was more than a weeks wages at the time. I was inter-railing around europe at the time but the recording seems to stop in pamplona. Six weeks later all my money and passport was stolen while in crete and i made my way home via the british consulate in athens.

This was an experimental recording session, using two tape recording machines. (ghetto blaster & hi-fi tower) take - 3 with takes 1 & 2 impositions playing, creating a final 3 track recording. This is my recording of an old vcr player with a vhs inserting into the player, starting, running, stopping and ejecting it.

Stopped in a tiny museum in kansas and the curator turned on the 1900s edison photograph for me and let me record the classic humming, scratchy sound of a turntable turning. The steady rhythm had a very "bioshock infinite" feel to me, and i loved it. Nice to put under music to make it sound old. Recorded on my cellphone and cleaned up in audacity. Production-now. Sound is a short clip from a microcassette field recording of my next-door neighbors talking outside. It has a seemingly young girl exclaiming "he looks like a damn prick!" and then some other things i don't remember or couldn't discern. I have no idea what they were talking about. . .

A technical problem i had with my technics stereo cassette desk rs-5 where playback would deliver this fading squarewave at maximum volume. Apparently, it could have been an issue with the tape header wearing out. Thought i might as well upload it here, as i'm not sure anyone will be able to create this sound again. Note, this sound was de-amplifiied by 10 db in audacity 3. 1. 3. Simply put, the raw file was incredibly loud. If you're curious enough, you can increase it back up to its original volume, though i wouldn't advise it.

This was a tape cassette and case thrown against a wall, this represents a solid plastic object being thrown or dropped from a height and smashing on the floor with a piece of plastic breaking off and hitting the ground for the 2nd impact.
